We are doing all we can to keep your information secure, but that doesn't stop thieves from trying. They have found that the greatest point of weakness is our members trust in their financial institution. Please be aware of some basic rules to keep yourself safe from scams and ID theft.

 

Basic Rules to Avoid Scams

1. Never give your social security number or other personal information over the phone or in an email without being 100% sure of the other party.

2. To confirm that you are speaking to who they claim to be, call them back at the number you know - not the one they give you.

3. Anyone asking for you to give them money up front that they will then reimburse you with interest is probably just going to take your money. (see Nigerian Scam)

4. Before involving yourself in a business opportunity, check with government offices to learn the history of the company.

5. If it sounds to good to be true - it is.

Most fraud occurs when you are most vulnerable - a death in the family, financial problems, senior citizen on Medicare. Be careful about what information you offer to others.
