Heart of Louisiana Credit Union was established in 1955 to provide service to its members. The privacy of our members and the information they provide to their credit union is of great importance to us. We are committed to guarding the privacy and confidentiality of the personal and financial information with which you have entrusted to us.
Our pledge to our members is:
- We will collect, maintain and use only the member information necessary to provide the services and products which your credit union has available.
- All information received from our members will be safeguarded according to strict standards of security and confidentiality. Only employees, authorized and trained in the appropriate handling of confidential information, will be allowed access to our members’ confidential information. Any employee who violates our strict confidentiality standards will be subject to disciplinary action, which may include termination.
- No information will be released to any outside organization, other than those through whom we offer products or services, except when we are required by law to do so or if the member has requested such release or has been notified of the possibility of prior disclosure. Member information on loans will be released monthly to the credit reporting agencies of which your credit union is a member.
The release of information to any third party will require the member’s written authorization.
Your credit union will provide, through its website, online banking that is as secure as modern technology can make it. To access online banking, each member will be assigned a unique password by the credit union and/or its online banking provider. Our members are requested to safeguard their account information and password from use by any other person. Credit union services are only available to our members.
