Holiday Closings
Our offices will close at noon on Tuesday December 24, 2019 and will remain closed December 25, 2019. We will resume normal business hours on Thursday December 26th. Our offices will close at noon on December 31, 2019 and will remain closed on Wednesday January 1, 2020. We will resume normal business hours on Thursday January 2nd.
Equifax Data Breach Announced
Equifax, one of the three credit reporting agencies, announced last night that a cyber security incident occurred from mid-May until July 29, 2017. This data breach potentially impacts 143 million U.S. consumers. Unfortunately, the information that is included in the breach includes names, Social Security numbers, birth dates, addresses, and, in some cases, driver's license numbers. Along with this security breach, approximately 209,000 credit card numbers and 182,000 dispute documents with personal identifying information were also accessed.
Helping Harvey Victims without Getting Scammed
The news reports about the Hurricane Harvey victims can really tug at your heart. You may even be moved to donate whatever you can to assist in the relief efforts. Unfortunately, though, that’s exactly what many scammers are counting on.

Great Wolf Lodge Vacation Winner
Heart of Louisiana Credit Union offered a vacation giveaway promotion from July 3rd through August 11th for those who closed a consumer loan greater than $15,000. If they qualified, they were automatically entered into a drawing for the Great Wolf Lodge package which included $1,000 Great Wolf Lodge gift card as well as a $500 Visa gift card for any added expense. They also received another vacation giveaway bag full of goodies. We conducted a random drawing, and our winner was Mr. Darrell Price! Congratulations, and we hope you have a great time on your Great Wolf Lodge vacation!
CASA School Supply Drive
During the month of July, Heart of Louisiana Credit Union members donated school supplies for the children in the Rapides CASA program. Several items were collected, including folders, notebooks, pencils, crayons, markers, etc. Once collected, we took a trip to CASA and presented the staff with the supplies. It was a fun and simple way to reach out to our community and support an amazing organization!

Final Report Card Drawing
Our young members are scoring BIG with their Honor Roll report cards! All members in grade school had the opportunity during the 2016-2017 school year to enter their report cards for some routine drawings, as well as the grand prize drawings for an Apple iPad Mini and an Apple iPod Touch.
Congratulations to Anna from Calcasieu and Natalie from Pineville! Anna was the grand prize winner of the Apple iPad Mini while Natalie received the second grand prize, an Apple iPod Touch.
The young members below each received a $20 gift card to The Grand Theatre.
CASA School Supply Drive in July
Heart of Louisiana Credit Union is the Credit Union with HEART! To show our community support, we are collecting school supplies for the children involved in the Rapides CASA Program. You can bring in new school supplies to any of our three locations during the month of July.
Email Scams on the Rise
'Phishing' schemes are on the rise and are ever-changing. Just this week, DocuSign fell victim to a breach where a database of customer email addresses were stolen and sent phishing emails. If and when customers opened the attachments on the spoofed email, malicious software will be downloaded.
